Tesco Drops Glenn Beck
Dec 19th
Continued success for the UK effort to Stop Glenn Beck!
Earlier in the week, they passed along word that British Airways and Natwest were dropping Glenn Beck due to his indecency. This morning, they announced that Tesco would also be pulling their ads. Tesco is the UK’s largest retailer and the third largest in the world (Wal-Mart is the largest).
Several months ago, Tesco simply refused to budge. That they are now pulling their ads is a testament to the power of persistence as well as Glenn Beck’s indecency.
Tesco’s statement:
I was sorry to learn that you found it unacceptable that Tesco were showing adverts between commercial More >
Glenn Beck: Guy Who Wants Change and is Executed is Ultimate Progressive Story
Dec 16th
File this one under not funny, and inappropriate.
On his radio show this morning, Glenn Beck and his crew discussed the controversy in Massachusetts over the boy who drew a crucifix and may or may not have been suspended because of it. During the discussion, Glenn Beck described a progressive’s “ultimate story.”
Well, let’s think like someone in Massachusetts. Okay. Let’s think like the progressive movement here. It’s still, even if you don’t believe in the whole Jesus story and you’re like ‘whatever.’ Let’s, can we learn anything from this. Let’s just assume that you’re a progressive and you’re like ‘he didn’t rise More >
Glenn Beck Defends 3/5 Clause
Dec 15th
This morning, Glenn Beck defended the three-fifths clause after a black caller questioned him about the fact that the Constitution “didn’t even recognize my people as even human.” Think Progress details the exchange here.
Today was not the first time that Glenn Beck has come down on the wrong side of the three-fifths clause or the institution of slavery. In his most recent book, Glenn Beck seems to defend, whether knowingly or unknowingly, the institution of slavery. Or, how about that on several occasions these past months, Glenn Beck portrayed Pres. Obama as a Constitution hater because Obama referred to the More >
PUIG Beauty Drops Glenn Beck
Dec 14th
The UK effort passes along news of yet another dropped sponsor.
PUIG Beauty (Carolina Herrera, Nina Ricci & Paco Rabanne) advise that they will no longer be running ads on the Glenn Beck program:

Although we cannot control the content of the programmes that are shown, we aim to ensure we do not run alongside content of this nature and no further spots will be appearing alongside this programme.

Glenn Beck’s Launches Bigoted Attack Against India
Dec 13th
At least 90 sponsors have already fled Glenn Beck. If you need a reminder for why this might be happening, you need only look to Glenn Beck’s recent bigoted attack against India. Media Matters offers this summary (emphasis added):
Thus, within the span of a few minutes, Beck implied that there are no quality medical schools in India; implied that medical care in India is a shoddy imitation of real health care; implied that the entire nation is an undeveloped backwater without even so much as indoor plumbing; and compared the Ganges River, a holy body of water for one of the world’s More >
Glenn Beck Attacks Gov’t Workers, Says They “Don’t Have Any Self-Respect”
Dec 11th
During an interview with Congressman Jason Chaffetz, Glenn Beck seemed to attack government workers by suggesting they were “enslaved” and saying they “don’t have any self-respect anymore.”
Regardless of your thoughts about the substance of Beck and Chaffetz’s discussion, Mr. Beck’s broad sweeping claim that government workers don’t have any self-respect is just one example out of many of the type of vitriolic rhetoric that Beck is known for.
