tescologoContinued success for the UK effort to Stop Glenn Beck!

Earlier in the week, they passed along word that British Airways and Natwest were dropping Glenn Beck due to his indecency.  This morning, they announced that Tesco would also be pulling their ads.  Tesco is the UK’s largest retailer and the third largest in the world (Wal-Mart is the largest).

Several months ago, Tesco simply refused to budge. That they are now pulling their ads is a testament to the power of persistence as well as Glenn Beck’s indecency.

Tesco’s statement:

I was sorry to learn that you found it unacceptable that Tesco were showing adverts between commercial breaks of Fox News, hosted by Glenn Beck on Sky Television. Please accept my apologies for any disappointment caused.

Having contacted our Advertising Department, they have advise me that our Media Agency have been contacted and the necessary changes have been made to ensure that we do not feature in any ad breaks for this television programme in the future.

This brings the total number of dropped sponsors to 93.

Large corporations think and act globally. Accordingly, in order to effect change, we must think and act globally too. This is why we will continue to contact those companies that advertise on Glenn Beck’s show in the UK.

Big thanks to the UK effort, moleyhtfc on Twitter and everyone else who is participating in this effort.  Keep up the great work all!
