I agree with a lot of what you say, but here’s my big issue you started this string of a few days ago by saying ” Thank Goodness for Beck and the rest of the talking head crew” but know your talking about how they muddy the water and a lot of us are sick of hearing them. I don’t think you’re the only one who thinks like that but most of the talking head supporters will not come out and say STOP! with all this opinion crap and start giving us more facts and solutions.

Admittedly the idea capitalism is being replaced by true socialism is a bit of a stretch. I also agree to complain about societal, economic, etc problems without offering a solution diminishes the message. It isn’t hard to throw rocks. (this applies to whomever is doing the complaining)

For the record, free markets are the fastest and most efficient way out of the economic crisis. It is not the most pain free way.

To follow my own advice, I will suggest there are steps to take from a legislative position to reduce the chances of this happening again. I do not believe the current path using regulation is the right way to go. There is a distinct difference.

he’s realistically upset, but his assumption that capitalism is being replaced by socialism is beyond ridiculous. the real problem is that our capitalism is going on unchanged. noone will argue that we’re unsustainable, but i have yet to hear beck offer any sustainable solutions.

Mr. Beck is realistic on his position regarding the US debt and deficit. Conservatives, liberals, republicans, democrats, George Bush, Barack Obama, etc. have created a culture of spending that is unsustainable. As long as the US dollar remains the world’s reserve currency we will be OK, but we should quit supporting a rising global tide against the dollar’s supremacy.

The talking heads are throwing more than sand. Quite frankly it is beyond tiresome. Contrary to what many in national public office and the press seem to believe, the American people are not stupid. However, it is extremely difficult for the people to make informed judgements when those folks muddy the water with their opinions. To quote Jack Webb from the TV show, we want “Just the facts please.”

You make a ton of sense. Your point of view was well received, but this string was started by you saying Beck was realistic? Can you please give an example of that and using sand to make a pearl is great, but I think a lot of the talking heads you mentioned are taking that sand and throwing it in the face of people who don’t think the same way they do. We want to see more pearls and less sand.

DCRref, a reasonable question. Perhaps the following analogy will clarify my position. All of the above mentioned talking heads are equally guilty of taking a grain of truth and trying to grow them into pearls of wisdom. Pearls come in a variety of colors. Some folks like white, some like black, etc. it is a matter of personal taste. To an oyster, a pearl in no more than an irritant. What is needed is perspective in the part of viewers.

Extreme views from opposite ends of the spectrum can be a good thing. They provide rational, intelligent people to weigh the opposing views and formulate their own opinion. This is especially critical in the absence of journalistic news (like Cronkite provided). We now largely have opinionated news.

I have no idea as to your mental condition, education, phobias, ect. However, the more express your thoughts, the more you disclose.

Can you please give us an example of the realism that you’re talking about? Know keep in mind your talking about a guy (Beck) who talks about this administration “out right now buying bats” inferring that this administration would use those bat on who ever disagrees with it’s policy. Now is that being “realistic”
