How To Participate In And Support The StopBeck Effort
Mar 29th
Thanks for your interest in the StopBeck effort!
Tweets and emails to sponsors do matter as evinced by Glenn Beck’s continued loss of advertisers: Glenn Beck has lost well over 100 advertisers. Also, the broadcast of his show in the U.K. has been running without any commercials since February 9 – almost 2 months now.
This effort is powered by people and persistence. Accordingly, we need help holding the line against Fox News as well as help growing. Here are some ways you can participate in the StopBeck effort…
#1) Help Pressure Remaining Sponsors

Washington Post: 200+ Companies Boycott Glenn Beck’s Program
Mar 28th
In a recent article on Fox News’ internal distress over Glenn Beck, Howard Kurtz from the Washington Post reports (emphasis added):
More than 200 companies have joined a boycott of Beck’s program, making it difficult for Fox to sell ads. The time has instead been sold to smaller firms offering such products as Kaopectate, Carbonite, 1-800-PetMeds and Goldline International. A handful of advertisers, such as Apple, have abandoned Fox altogether. Network executives say they believe they could charge higher rates if the host were more widely acceptable to advertisers.
This is excellent news and consistent with the StopBeck effort’s internal numbers. One bit of More >
Update: Discovery Advertisements On Glenn Beck
Mar 26th
Last week, advertisements for Discovery’s new series, LIFE, began running on Glenn Beck’s program. Consequently, participants in the StopBeck effort sprang to action. Given what I thought Discovery Communications stood for, I imagined that they would be willing to disassociate their brand from Glenn Beck’s vitriol, race-baiting and sexism. This turned out to be an incorrect assumption.
After almost two weeks of kind requests from participants in the StopBeck effort, Discovery still refuses to publicly disassociate their brand from Glenn Beck’s hate. However, I have received confirmation that they have no more LIFE promos scheduled to run on Glenn Beck’s program More >
Guess Glenn Beck Still Thinks Obama Is A Racist…
Mar 26th
In a local television interview in Florida, Glenn Beck talked of civil war. He was also asked whether he stands by his assertion that President Obama is “a racist” with a “deep-seated hatred for white people, or the white culture.” And, well, based on his answer, we’re left with the impression that he stands by his assertion that Obama is a “racist.”
Partial transcript:
Mike Dunston (Anchor) Back in July of last year on Fox and Friends, you said you believed that the President is a racist. Do you still believe that?

Logo TV Says Ad That Ran During Glenn Beck’s Show Was A Mistake
Mar 23rd
Something unexpected happened on March 22, 2010: an advertisement for Logo ran during Glenn Beck’s show. Logo is a LGBT themed digital entertainment network and is a subsidiary of Viacom.
Participants in the StopBeck effort sprang to action. And shortly thereafter Logo advised that the ads were run in error and that they were pulled.
Logo’s statement posted to their Twitter account:
RuPaul ad somehow got in Glenn Beck only in Denver; called our agency, was mistake & is pulled thanks to all of you!
This brings the total number of advertisers to drop Glenn Beck to 121. On a related note, the broadcast of Glenn More >

Glenn Beck says he ‘doesn’t know’ where Barack Obama was born. Come on, Glenn…
Fueled by hatriot radio, there is embarrassing number of people that still refuse to believe that Barack Obama was born in the United States. They question Obama’s citizenship regardless of all contrary evidence. Because segments of his fan base overlap with birthers, Glenn Beck has walked a bit of a tight rope on this issue.
Nevertheless, in January, I thought Glenn Beck settled his position on the birther issue once and for all when he said of the birthers’ claim that it was “the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.” Now, don’t More >
Caption Contest
Mar 11th
Only on Glenn Beck’s contemptible television show will you see scenes like this…
Caption This...?
This picture warrants a caption contest. I can’t say whether they’ll be any prizes (I’ll work on it and update accordingly). But, for now, just leave a comment with your caption/captions suggestions.
PRIZE: $100 to the charity of the winner’s choice.
The prize has been generously donated by @ChrisAgne and @AliceInTheWater ($25 each) and one anonymous donor ($50). They’re all terrific tweeps and active participants in the StopBeck effort. Please show them some Twitter love:

TurboTax Becomes 120th Advertiser To Drop Glenn Beck
Mar 10th
On March 9th, TurboTax advertisements began running on Glenn Beck’s show on the Fox News Channel. Participants in the StopBeck effort promptly sprang to action. Less than 24 hours later, TurboTax announced that they would be pulling their advertisements from Glenn Beck’s show.
This brings the total number of advertisers to drop Glenn Beck to 120. On a related note, the broadcast of Glenn Beck’s show in the U.K. has been running without any advertisers for over a month now.
TurboTax’s statement:
Thanks everyone for your feedback, & for reminding us of what we value. We’ve pulled advertising from the Glenn Beck show.

Glenn Beck Says The Census Is An Attempt To “Increase Slavery”
Mar 10th
Nonsensical tirades that prey on racial anxieties, like the one Glenn Beck delivered on March 9 about the census underscore part of the reason why 119 advertisers fled his show and why the broadcast of his show in the UK has been without any advertisers for over a month now.
Glenn Beck urged people not to fill out the race question on the Census because it’s an attempt to increase modern day slavery (emphasis added):
Glenn Beck: Why were they asking the race question, you said when, in 1790? … Right, they want to know, do you count as three-fifths? Do you count at More >
