Meet Glenn “Birther” Beck…
Glenn Beck says he ‘doesn’t know’ where Barack Obama was born. Come on, Glenn…
Fueled by hatriot radio, there is embarrassing number of people that still refuse to believe that Barack Obama was born in the United States. They question Obama’s citizenship regardless of all contrary evidence. Because segments of his fan base overlap with birthers, Glenn Beck has walked a bit of a tight rope on this issue.
Nevertheless, in January, I thought Glenn Beck settled his position on the birther issue once and for all when he said of the birthers’ claim that it was “the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.” Now, don’t go giving Glenn too much credit for being reasonable. He went on to suggest that Obama was actually behind the birther conspiracy in order to create an easy political target. Sigh. Despite the Obama conspiracy twist, I was still left with the impression that Glenn Beck at least accepted Obama’s citizenship.
Guess it’s time for me to guess again…
In a nine minute interview with Peter Boyles, Glenn Beck danced around the birther issue. Beck is clearly uncomfortable talking about this issue. During the interview, Glenn Beck went so far as to say “I’m not a birther.” Yet, despite this proclamation, Beck still questions Obama’s citizenship.
At the conclusion of the interview, Boyles asks Glenn Beck if he “disbelieves” Birther’s claims (emphasis added):
Glenn Beck: I don’t know what to believe. I don’t know what to believe. I know that I have spent my time saying ‘our rights are being taken away.’ This man has Marxists around him since birth. Where he was born? I don’t know. I think he was born in the United States of America.
Boyles: Did his father…stepfather adopt him and make him an Indonesian?
Beck: I don’t know.
Boyles: Does it matter?
Beck: Do you listen to a word I am saying?
Boyles: Yes, I sure do. I mean, I just wanted to ask you that follow up question: Would that matter, if he became a dual citizen of another country?
Beck: Peter, I don’t think I can say it any clearer: the Constitution matters…[snip]
So, according to this interview: Glenn Beck doesn’t know where Obama was born. Yet, he says he’s not a birther.
Look, Glenn Beck can’t have it both ways. He says he’s not a birther, yet he still questions Obama’s citizenship. Newsflash: that’s exactly what being a birther is.
We’re just not going to let Glenn Beck get away with this kind of willful deceit.

This man is the most despicable excuse for a human being I have ever seen. He has no shame. I pity the poor dumb souls that follow him. They have no clue how badly he has taken advantage of their ignorance and fear.

I listen to Glenn Beck semi regularly. He has made it clear time and time again he thinks the president was born in the US and if he wasn’t he doesn’t care, He is far more worried over the idea that the president is a Marxist or socialist or what ever ist.

What is with all of this hate? So many people are just hating and not trying to understand.
This site is guilty of it. It is hateful.
Obama is guilty of it.
You’re not 100% wrong, but you’re hateful as well.

Anita, how many times have you listened to his show? He's a bit over the top but so is every host out there. This article is a perfect example of the herd mentality that YOU appear to follow. Why isn't “I think he was born in the United States of America.” in bold?
Read more, think more, write less.

beck is just worried about worrying. worrying is what drives his fan base so he jumps around from one side of the argument to the other never really taking a side always saying “don't take my word for it look it up yourself” which the average fan will take that as he must not be lying or he wouldn't want me to look up things and if you did you would most likely come to the preconceived notion that he had already laid out for you to come to.
glen beck plays to ratings and to what ever will attract the most attention it's what he's done his whole life as a radio show host (it's gotten him in trouble more times than not but its one of his most consistent conventions) and it's what he'll continue to do. it's his right to do so but what's not right is the representation that what he says is fact and that his show about his opinions and falsification of the united states history is presented as news on a news channel.

I voted for Obama because I believe he is very smart. I think some people (with much lesser grey matter) are threatened by this. It's a shame.

Free speech is only free speech if a person agrees with you? I prefer to hear both sides of every story then decide for myself. I watch equally one-sided programs on CNN, NBC, ABC, which, unlike Beck, do not prock up “words from their own mouths” segments. THEN I ecide which to believe, which to investigate further, and which to kick to the gutter.

Wow. Thought I might enjoy this site but you just turned me into a Glen Beck listener.

Why would you try to censor anyone's voice? If you don't like Glen Beck, there's something you can do….switch stations! Do it while you still have the right to select your own radio station

And yet, Glenn Beck supporters are on here, trying to censor our voices. Funny, that.

Then you were mentally damaged from the beginning. There is no hope for you. Get lost.

Hate, hate, hate. That's all I see people say around here. There's no hate, only facts in the above post. If you're going to dispute the facts, then dispute them with credible evidence and sources, but don't just spout words like “hate” without any justification behind them.

I agree with Riley. Back clearly, unambiguously states, ” I think he was born in the United States of America.” Why isn't that part set in bold type and highlighted?

Yes, but it’s like he keeps yelling fire in a crowded theater, when there is no fire.

I dont know how people think that cause he said “he dont know” he is such a bad person. Lets really examine this. Was glenn at his birth? Probably not.. Can glenn say yes? sure. He can say he knows for a fact that obama was born in usa. How could he know for sure though? Could he just watch other progressive shows ? sure. I mean those shows are completely honest and beck is completely a liar, right? Come on people if you think that you are always right, or if some other network you chose to watch is so much better. think again. Dont be the naive person saying such comments please it makes you look rediculous
