Cadillac Confirms: No Ads On Glenn Beck’s Show
Recently, a Cadillac advertisement ran during Glenn Beck’s show. We were surprised that Cadillac would be willing to associate its brand with Glenn Beck’s irresponsible vitriol, especially since Mercedes, Lexus, BMW and Infiniti all ceased advertising on Glenn Beck’s show.
As usual, participants in the StopBeck effort reached out to Cadillac for clarification and urged them not to advertise on Glenn Beck’s show. Cadillac confirmed that stopped purchasing advertisements on Glenn Beck’s show a while back. They advised that the ads were run in error.
Cadillac becomes yet another addition to the growing list of companies that refuse to support Glenn Beck’s vitriol with advertising dollars.
In a message to the StopBeck effort, Cadillac stated:
We do not and have not advertised on the Glenn Beck show for some time.
Any advertising during his programming by Cadillac is a mistake by the network.
We hope this helps clarify any misunderstanding.
Great work all! Many thanks to all those participating in this effort. Your tweets and emails do matter.
Onward we go…

Oh, and don’t forget, May 9 is the 3 month anniversary of Glenn Beck’s broadcast in the U.K. running without any advertisements because of your efforts. So, pat yourself on the back for that one too!

Ha Looks like Becks chickens have come home to roost. It is amazing how some of the Republican commentators stand by their ascertation that words are just words and do not matter. Anyone with half a brain and any kind of basic reasoning understands that you cannot suffer from diaherrea of the mouth for long without getting some splash back on yourself. Unfortunately for Messr. Beck his advertising revenue for his show is dwindling down to nil. Pretty soon the only people that will be willing to advertise on his show will be informercial people who sell teabag accessories. (nazi swastikas, President Obama in white face signs and tshirts, and of course the infamous picture of the first couple dressed as a pimp and a hooker.) If Rupert Murdoch is too stupid to realize that this bozo (Beck and Roger Ailes) are costing him money and ruining his reputation then he gets what he deserves. I hope that Beck ends up where he should have been all along, in some looney bin, in a designer straight jacket, howling at the moon, with felt markers on a soft white board where he can draw all the arrows, circles and crazy graphs that he wants, without polluting the common airwaves.

You are proving the effectiveness of going from protesting on a political basis to advocating on an economic basis. “It hurts your brand to be associated with (xyz) show.” Corporations and people respond to their reputations being hurt. Corporations relate the 'hurt brand' with potential lost revenue. Individuals relate it to personal ego. Groups relate it to their ability to achieve their goals and grow their groups.
All of this is more effective that simply attacking on a political basis. Yes, Glenn Beck is a wackjob. But attacking him directly does nothing. Pointing out the injury to his economic supporters, advertisers, that they are doing to themselves is ten times more effective.
I like to point out that Beck's demographic isn't one that most companies would consider desirable and that the advertiser could spend their ad dollars more effectively elsewhere.

Way too many ” ads run in error” mistakes on the network. Will Fox just keep doing that with no feedback from the companies?

If I could ask a simple question. Why spend so much of your time trying to silence one of Beck’s media outlets? You do realize he will continue to do radio, then if that were to be silenced he would go to internet only and write more books, and he wouldn’t loose a single member of his audience. It would seem a better use of your time to come up with actual counter arguments that don’t involve highly subjective accusations of ” irresponsible vitriol” instead of attempting to silence american citizens.

I am now beginning to understand what type of a campaign this is and I do not like it. Maybe these high minded sponsors should look at some of the other drivel they sponsor or how they would care to have an effort launched against them. This is manipulating the market and not letting it work out a program that no one wants which may or may not be the case here. I remember the hate that was launched again Pres. Bush and no one said a word. Who is spearheading this campaign?
