Daily Show’s Lewis Black: “Glenn Beck Has Nazi Tourette’s”
Glenn Beck is no stranger to Godwin’s Law. His willingness to compare anything and everything to Nazism or the holocaust is reckless, irresponsible and disrespectful. It’s also one of the reasons that our media accountability effort exists and continues.
Just how far can Glenn Beck take this? Well, he’s even tied churches that preach social justice to Nazism. Yes. In GlennBeckistan, Christian churches are like the Nazis because they include social justice in their gospels.
Glenn’s reliance on Godwin’s Law has earned rebukes from a wide range of groups from the ADL to Bread For The World to Christian churches/organizations. But, The Daily Show’s Lewis Black provides the sharpest rebuke of Glenn Beck’s exploitation of Nazi and Holocaust references:

Apropos Black’s commentary is this screen grab from a caption contest we had a while back; it really underscores the point that Lewis Black was making:

You guys are so funny! You do know that Glenn keeps a phone on his desk with a direct line to the President don't you? Funny, it has never once rung! If GB is saying so many lies, why don't people phone him directly and call him on it?
You Socalists are so predictable! You cannot defend your position so instead you try quiet those you disagree with. GB is full of hate but you guys are just a bunch of loving souls.
Give me a break! Hypocrits!

A direct line to the president? Do ya'll see how utterly ridiculous these cultists are?

Any proof of that line to the president aside from Glenn Beck saying it exists?

These types of comparisons are a major part, if not the backbone, of Glenn Beck's argument against the left. He is using the “slippery slope” logical fallacy. An example of this fallacy is claiming that a moderate financial reform bill will put America on a slippery slope which will lead to communism. Especially that he has no evidence that these reforms will lead to communism.
