How To Participate In And Strengthen The StopBeck Effort
Thanks for your interest in the StopBeck effort!
For background, I highly recommend this excellent Raw Story article by Allen McDuffee: Exclusive: Law student puts price tag on Glenn Beck’s words
Tweets and emails to sponsors do matter as evinced by Glenn Beck’s continued loss of advertisers: Glenn Beck has lost well over 100 advertisers (with reports of the actual number exceeding 200). Also, the broadcast of his show in the U.K. has been running without any commercials since February 9.
This effort is fueled by people and persistence. Accordingly, we need help holding Glenn Beck accountable as well as growing this effort. Here are some ways you can participate in the StopBeck effort…
#1) Help Pressure Remaining Sponsors
- On Twitter: watch out for tweets to Glenn Beck’s sponsors. You can help by re-tweeting them or sending those sponsors tweets of your own.
- Sometimes remaining sponsors need a bit more of a nudge than tweets provide. So, keep an eye on this site, Twitte or Facebook for announcements.
#2) Spread The Word
- Tell your friends, Twitter followers and Facebook friends about our StopBeck effort. Always let them know they can find more info at StopBeck.com, on Twitter @StopBeck or on Facebook.
- If you have a blog: add StopBeck.com to your blogroll. Or, if you feel like getting fancy, add a StopBeck badge to your site (see sidebar).
- If you see a blog post that fails to mention Glenn Beck’s lost sponsors even though it is relevant to the topic of the post: leave a comment about his lost sponsors and point them to http://stopbeck.com [Note: This is crucial to spreading the word about our effort. But, I am not asking you to spam the blogosphere. Please make sure the comment is relevant. Spreading the word about his lost sponsors helps improve the comment thread on that site - and it also helps our effort.]
#3) Consider Offering A Small Donation
- Your donation will be used to help defray some of the costs of this effort so far, pay for ongoing administrative expenses and lay the groundwork for expansion. It would be greatly appreciated. You can donate securely by clicking the donate button in the sidebar.
Many thanks to those participating in this effort to hold Glenn Beck accountable for his willful misinformation, vitriol, sexism and preying on racial anxieties.
Onward we go…

How does 100 – 200 advertisers buy ads on a 60 minute daily show or a 300 minute weekly show. The math doesn't work. Is it because stopbeck.com does not do any research or just selling ads on their website? Is stopbeck.com telling the truth or are they just blowing smoke so they can make money off of their website.

Thanks for putting out a list of company's, now we can boycott them!

glen beck is a hero, but you folks are far too dumb to see it. if you had any idea how many people look down on you and are laughing at you and your cause, i dont think good folks like yourselves would be caught up in a loosing cause. i feel sorry for you people… I mean, almost everything that beck speaks of he has indisputable proof and evidence of. and yet, you still dont get it. i would imagine that if you held a match to your hand, while biting your tongue from the pain would still say that there is no pain. Im really sorry you folks are into all this beck bashing. you look like fools. Everyone knows this, yet you still persist. i give you credit tho, for standing up for your beliefs. bravo. yet, i still cant help but to snicker at you. =] god bless.

You will never stop Beck.

I am delighted and happy to see you boys played right into the hands of Beck and Becksters across the country. Goebbels would be proud of you, and Joe Stalin would have had you in for tea if he was still around.
If you cannot beat him on ideas, I guess the only step open to you was to try to shut him down by having your fellow travelers in big business cut off the funds like the little weasels you all are.

u r an idiot. Free speech is takn too far by ppl like Beck. It's not right and a person shouldn't get paid and glorified at the expense of others, it is disrespectful. U reap what u sew.

If you start picking and choosing who can say what then you can pack up and go live in IRAN! You may not agree with Beck's ways but you need to see that America is losing its freedoms and you can thank our corrupt government past and present for this. Wake up and do something constructive instead of trying to stop someone from talking!

Anger issues? If he told the truth instead of distorting it and inciting people with baseless nonsense, there would be no reason for this site.

The math works if you realize that the advertisers weren't all shown at the same time, or if you take how long the show has been running into consideration.

Read more Adam Smith. Boycotting companies to force them to bend to your will is not supporting a free market- which is what you say you support, remember?
Congratulations at breaking your own philosophy. You've just shown your hypocrisy.

How do you know it's true? How do you know he doesn't just say it to get people riled up? Prove it's true, if you can.

He is an uneducated hate monger who is raking in the money. Women love him because he pretends to be empathetic but he is just another actor. Why don”t people recognize him for what he is?

Cheryl, hon, you, like most of Glenn's ignorant viewers (and Sarah Palin, too) haven't yet figured out that “freedom of speech” and the 1st Amendment refer to THE GOVERNMENT putting restrictions on what you can say. Other citizens are perfectly free to exercise the power of the purse to pressure commercial sponsors to pull their ads or networks to cancel shows. THAT's operation of the FREE MARKET, baby. You right wing motards claim to love it so much, except when it is applied to you.

I agree with you! By the way I clicked liked and nothing happened as if it erased it.

The boycott certainly IS part of a free market, as long as it isn't driven by the government. I have every right to choose what companies I buy from on whatever basis I wish. Republitards are quick enough to do it – remember what happened when the Geico voice-over guy left a message expressing his PERSONAL political views at the RNC – it was made public in a flash and Geico was flooded with calls demanding that he be fired, which he was.

Glenn Beck didn't know that his DC tryst was political? I find that hard to believe. He surely did understand the significance of holding his rally on the fortieth anniversary of Dr. King's “I Have a Dream” speech. And I know that there was some diversity among those who went, but why is it that the majority of people were white? One word, racism.

Apparently Michael Savage loves Glenn Beck now. Weeks and months ago they despised one another. I guess Savage saw the strength in Beck's drawing power. Do you think Savage will partner up with the chalkster on his next non-political DC address? I'm not holding my breath.

Conservative talk radio and Fox News host Glenn Beck called for an invasion of the United Kingdom on Friday to head off what he called an attempt by the British to re-establish America as a colony, as well as the rest of the British Empire.
Beck said he recently saw a documentary on “the British invasion” of rock bands during the 1960s and realized it was the cause of recent unrest in Egypt and the Islamic world overall, given that Britain once had colonies in the Middle East.
“Make no mistake this is all part of a trend,” Beck said as he put album covers from The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and The Dave Clark Five on his chalkboard. He also put up pictures of Saddam Hussein, Adolph Hitler and, for some unclear reason, Lenny Kosnowksi from the 1970s-era sitcom Laverne & Shirley. He then drew circles, lines and smiley faces to link these disparate elements together, along with the date “1776” and “War of 1812.”
