After Wrigley Ad Ran, Mars Reaffirms Commitment Not To Sponsor Glenn Beck
Last week, an ad for Wrigley gum ran during the broadcast of Glenn Beck’s show in the UK. This seemed a bit strange, since Wrigley’s parent company, Mars Inc., ceased advertising on Glenn Beck’s show last October. So, we reached out to Wrigley for clarification and specifically asked whether the ad represented a change in Mars’ position.
Wrigley advised that the ad was run in error and reaffirmed Mars Inc’s original commitment not to sponsor Glenn Beck’s program.
Statement from Wrigley’s spokesperson emailed to the StopBeck effort:
I have now been able to look into this matter. Our UK business were unaware that any spots had been placed in this show. Upon further investigation we found out that it was a case of broadcaster error and this has now been rectified . I can confirm that there has been no change to Mars Inc’s position on this matter.
Thank you for bringing it to our attention
So there you have it. Great work all!
Onward we go…

I do not understand what is it about Glen Beck that you do not approve of? Is it his use of free speech? You do approve of free speech don't you? Does he lie or distort the “facts” and promote hate and intolerance?
I had never heard of Glen Beck until one of my good friends was talking (arguing) (to some Beck supporters) in my favorite pub) about what a bad and evil person he was. So, I decided to see for myself.
After all of this time, I have seen or heard very little from Beck that was anti anything or “hate” anyone or anything that was supported by the American Constitution. Yet I constantly hear vile and untruthful statements from his opponents. If you or your “friends” would or could back up your statements about how Beck lies or fabricates his statements and spews “hate speech” I would probably back your position. However, his positions are always backed by statements from his opponents mouths – they are not fabricated as you would have us believe.
There is indeed something vile and rotten being spewed here, but it is from you and your friends and associates, and not from Glen Beck!
I will support a boycott against those advertisers that have caved in to your distorted vision of free and truthful speech! They can reject you or I will never buy another product from them again, until they apologize to Glen Beck!

You guys are genuinely scary. I have begun writing sponsors that DROP their adds from the Beck show, letting them know I will do what I can to curtail sales, and I will support actively those that remain. Also I missed your reprimanding Kanye West and Bill Maher for similar comments. These are the examples that show your dishonesty. You are “useful idiots”.

Never gonna happen Shadow. Free speech is for those who are truthful and responsible.
