Glenn Beck has a history of linking himself to Martin Luther King.  For example, a few months ago, he was appropriating MLK’s image into his “refounders” logo.

I Don't See A Resemblance. Do You?

Recently, Glenn Beck’s decision to hold a book promotion event which he’s masquerading as a “historic” event to “restore honor” to America is drawing sharp criticism from civil rights leaders and organizations.

Why?

Well, because Glenn Beck has proclaimed his intention to pick up Martin Luther King’s mantle.  Accordingly, he’s holding his rally…err…book event…on the anniversary of MLK’s “I have a dream speech” at the exact same location that MLK gave the speech (steps of the Lincoln Memorial). [Stay tuned for much more about this event...you won't believe how he's financing it].

Yesterday, Glenn Beck defended his decision to hold his ra…errr…book event on this particular date.  He rebuffed criticism from civil rights leaders, boldly asserting:

“Blacks don’t own Martin Luther King.”

Oy.
