Recently, MetLife Bank advertisements began running on Glenn Beck’s show.

As with other advertisers, the StopBeck effort reached out to MetLife Bank.  We kindly requested that they follow the responsible action of well over 100 other former advertisers and refrain from advertising on Glenn Beck’s show.

This morning, in a statement sent to the StopBeck effort, MetLife Bank advised:

I looked into it and confirmed that MetLife Bank does not advertise on the Glenn Beck program. It does advertise on Fox News. Ads for MetLife Bank are scheduled to stop running prior to the commencement of the program.

This statement can be interpreted two ways: Either Beck’s show was originally excluded from MetLife Bank’s ad buy and the ads that did air were run in error by Fox News OR MetLife Bank revised their ad buy to ensure that their ads no longer appear on Glenn Beck’s show.

Either way, the important takeaway is that their ads will no longer appear on Glenn Beck’s show. That’s what matters.

Great work all! Many thanks for your continued participation in this accountability effort.

Onward we go…

Of Note: This brings the verifiable number of companies who have taken measures to ensure that their ads don’t run on Glenn Beck’s show up to 136. (Notably, my internal numbers exceed 200, which is consistent with the figure reported by the Washington Post).
