Dropped Sponsors
Total number of companies that refuse to have ads run on Glenn Beck: 300+
Your efforts are working: In addition to advertiser losses at home, the UK broadcast of Glenn Beck’s show has run for over a year without ads due to your efforts.
Notably: Reports by the New York Daily News, New York Times Magazine and The Washington Post demonstrate that the number of companies unwilling to advertise on Glenn Beck’s show continues to grow to this day…
- Most recently, on March 23, 2011, New York Daily News reported that the total number of companies that refuse to run ads on Glenn Beck’s show is approaching 400.
- On September 29, 2010, New York Times Magazine put that number at 296.
- On March 15, 2010, The Washington Post reported that the number exceeded 200.
Keep it up!
To date (3/30/11), here is a list of statements from a fraction of the total number of advertisers that either pulled ads from or took proactive measures to ensure that their ads do not appear on the Glenn Beck Program in the United States, the U.K., or both. [Note: An advertiser's presence in this list does not suggest or imply endorsement of StopBeck effort. It merely states the simple truth that these companies do not advertise on Glenn Beck's program. For details about individual reasoning, please see the accompanying statement.]

I want to recognize the following organizations’ contributions in holding Glenn Beck accountable for his irresponsible vitriol, propagation of sexism and preying on racial anxiety. So, thank you: Color of Change, SEIU and Media Matters.
And, of course, big thanks to all this participating in the StopBeck Effort. Your tweets and emails do matter.
Onward we go..

Free speech and the free market @ work !
He can say all the crazy goobledigook he wants to . . . and sponsors can continue to correctly assess that he’s not a good place to put advertising $$’s . . .
Thank you so much for publishing this list. I will be busy tonight sending emails to all of them, letting them know I will no longer purchase their products. Your hatred of Beck, with absolutely nothing to back it up proves how blind you all are. Keep your eyes shut and before long when you open them America will be gone.
Keep on drinking the FEAR cool-aid, pal and America will go away just as you would fear it would. The problem is that it will be all in you own mind. Watching any of these political pundits proclamations will make you go blind, be careful.
Thank you. I appreciate the hard work you do. Propagating hate and calling it news is unacceptable and harmful to everyone. I’m glad someone is doing something to stop it.
And to Scott Evans- “with absolutely nothing to back it up”…really? Have you looked at this site? There are new examples of the harm Glenn Beck is doing every day. I hope you are right and the America we currently know will be gone- maybe when I open my eyes there will be a more loving, inclusive, and intellectual America than there is right now.
I love the warm, fuzzy comment about a more loving, inclusive and intellectual America. Is that America or Yeswecanistan? That is where Obama is taking us. Sites like Stopbeck and others are simply the work of hacks who don’t like the fact that Glenn Beck, time after time, reveals the agenda of the Socialist Dems and exposes their lies and the harm they are causing our nation. The only hate I see is the hatred of sites like Stopbeck toward Beck. I, like Scott Evans, appreciate the published lists of advertisers who knuckle under to the Beck haters. I don’t buy their products any longer – unlike many of the faux boycotters who threaten to no longer buy products they never bought in the first place. Well, I’ve wasted enough time on Beck haters.

Today he said that the 3/5 rule in the Constitution was actually good for the slaves because it meant the south had less pull in elections.
Yup, yup..that’s what he said.
Keep up the good work.
And, btw, people who think this is an attempt to stop Beck from speaking – let him continue to speak all he wants. He’s nothing but good for the Democrats and nothing but a pain in the butt for real republicans.
Keep talking Glenn. We can only hope you split the republican party in half!

Beck, Limbaugh, and the other lunatics on talk radio help to expose the right wing’s nasty, self-serving, extremist ideology for what it is. Sponsors must then decide whether they want to appeal to the radical minority that embraces such an ideology while repelling everyone else. Obviously a great many of them have decided that it will hurt their sales. This is the free market at work! Beck should rejoice.
I find it almost hysterical how the Obama haters sound so much like yesterday’s Bush haters. The same crap was going on these past 8 years & what’s happening this year is nothing new… it just appears that the other half of the nation just woke up. Good morning, sunshine!
There are a lot of idiots out there on national television. Turn off the TV.

Glenn Beck is one of the few people on TV who has common sense. America is going the wrong way, and you people are proof of that.
What I find interesting is that the Republican party says nothing to recant or deny the things that people like Beck and Limbaugh say. Why? Because they agree with it. Its much easier for them to have someone who is not an elected official make these outrageous statements to mobilize the base. The radio guys can say whatever they want and it won’t cost them a single vote. What would happen if any Republican on the stump said any of the things you hear coming out of your radio. Done, over, end of election. But since they have a shill to say it for them, they have insulated themselves from the fray.

I applaud the sponsors who have withdrawn their support from that hate crime of a man.
As far as the comment by “cj laughing”… this has little to do with Obama vs. Bush. This has to do with a complete whack job promoting hate over our airways. And yes, I do choose not to watch Fox. I wouldn’t tune into that low life programming for anything. Glen Beck is a liar. He is a racist. He is sexist. He is anti-semitic. He is the reason we need hate crime laws on the books. People who enjoy his show or relate to his show should really take a deep look in the mirror to see what a hateful person looks like.
Sniffle, sniffle…. it’s just that… sniffle… I love my country so much…. sniff, sniff… what an unbalanced (I’m talking mentally now) loser.

I have herd Beck and some of what he says does merit consideration. I do not listen daily.
Obama is as much for big Corporations as any President has been. Want to fix health care? How about small steps. All Congress need to do is Pass a bill with a few sentences. This is what they should convey.:
1)Companies that sell prescription drugs in the USA shall not charge more than 10 percent more that they Charge Canada and mexico, Period!
Hello, this will make em realize the USA isn’t going to subsidize Europe and other Countries health care any more. The USA pays for these companies R&D budgets.
Add a similar line for the companies selling medical devices and machines.
Next, Cap and trade will not reduce co2.
It will only re-allocate wealth from us to someone else.
co2
A) Energy available over energy required.
We have representatives and their AGW supporters believing fiction or we could say they are the ones whom believed the earth was flat. These are the type of people whom believed in the pelt down man.(that went on for decades before the scam was figure out)
Finally, water vapor absorbs most of the co2 radiation spectrum anyway. There are those whom try to argue there is the edges of the bands and in the upper atmosphere co2 could absorb what water didn’t because the water vapor isn’t that high…false:
This guy took a different angle on the math and calculated:
” Energy(required) / Energy(available) = Ratio
5,638,552,558,180,617,600,000 kJ / 55,262,986,931,155,824,000 kJ = 102.03
It would require 102 times as much energy as is available to raise the temperature 1°K in 100 years.
In other words, if ALL of the solar irradiance that the anthropogenic CO2 could intercept were converted into heat, and if it took no energy to warm the land masses and the upper atmosphere, the temperature of the planet would only warm by about 0.01°K in 100 years.
Ignorance denied.”"
http://space.moonagewebdream.com/2009/12/07/some-math-about-co2/
Learn math, I suggest if your dumb enough to believe Gore.
In case you think socialism works try studying history. Russia failed, China failed, and the American college children failed to make their communes work that they started in the sixties. None worked, GET IT! learn history.
Once it consumes the assets of the producers it collapses…In all cases this is true.
Ya say China is working, really seems to me they had massive assets invested in it from outside…And believe it or not China is trying to let capitalism run and increase. China isn’t currently trying to kill capitalism.
I think, National health care will create another Black hole in the federal budget. The first Black hole is Medicare and we haven’t fixed it…And if we do manage to pay for it. In several decades we will notice the decline in new medical knowledge. Medical knowledge will slowly decelerate and it’s advancing nature we have come accustom to taking for granted…
How can this be good?
Bush was Bad but what Obama and Pelosi and the Democrats want will be much harder to fix than anything Bush did…In my opinion Bush’s failures are easy to correct.
National Health care will eventually stall the progress of medical know how and may even BK the federal budget.
Cap and trade is a treasonous idea.
If you want that. Why not start now and send a check you your favorite Dictator and his friends. Send your checks to global companies to help them build plants overseas where they were going to build them anyway.
Yes, insanity rules in the name of Cap and Trade.

It is true..Beck is a wild and cracy guy! But, he shows you the truth about Obama and most of the cracies he has around him. I am surprised at how many warped people we have in this country. Ummm…what specifically did the man say that has offended each and every one of you?
Should a man be silenced for telling the truth, allthewhile, a minority (numerically speaking) of people who are offended go to great lengths to silence him?
Sounds as though Mr. Beck is speaking to the very ones that DO NOT respect the Freedom of Speech our forefathers fought and died to give us. It is quite interesting however, that you DO NOT afford that opportunity to the majority of Americans.
I cannot fathom how it hurts my Father in Heaven when you take His name and His Son’s name in vain, but I CANNOT silence you, as this is, Freedom of Speech.
It is, without a doubt, amazingly clear as to just how close we are to the end, when all that is TRULY WRONG will be right, and all that is TRULY RIGHT, will be wrong.
This isn’t about the freedom of speech and you know it. Of course he has the right to say what he pleases, everyone does. But Glenn Beck’s job is to keep people angry and divided. Anyone who blindly tows a party line, left or right, is a sheep.
Oh, and regarding your deep and abiding faith, how do you think God feels about the way Glenn Beck makes his living? Do you really think He approves of the childish name calling? Of wishing death upon his fellow man?

neocons are NOT the same as a moderate D. Yes, both serve the corporate master but, look at the people who have already been uplifted by the Dems in office. The poor and the stumbling have been helped. In time, the middle class will be helped and the 8 years of the neocon rule will look like what it was- a fascist regime.

It does not matter how many leave Beck. They continue to support Fox networks other shows.
As long as Fox still has sponsors of other programs they will continue to keep Beck.
When the day comes when the sponsors begin to leave the other shows because of Beck, then he will disappear. And Fox being the dung heap of opinion networks, will hire others just as nuts. There is no shortage of mental defects and former druggies or alcoholics.

I commend this effort, however to detractors of this campaign, are you ever going to figure out that Glenn Beck is misguiding you? He’s protecting the very banking cartel that’s actually imploding the economy by design, he’s placing the blame in the wrong place, he’s completely hijacked the real patriot movement.

I think companies like Orbitz should advertise on his show. More specifically, Gay Orbitz.
Likewise, the HRC should advertise on his show, as well as other liberal sponsors.
Everyone has a right to earn a living. I just think it would be funny and ironic if all of his sponsors were openly gay friendly. (And that is just the beginning.)
Does anyone seriously think Fox is going to turn down a buck? It may also shut Beck up. If his meal ticket is coming from liberal organizations, he is going to have to change his mindset to make money.

Dear Charrles Nelson,
I disagree with most of your points but I would particularly like to point that your ‘global warming is a myth’ theory is seriously flawed.
The link that you provided, is from, I’m sorry to say, a misinformed gentleman with little knowledge about basic geometry let alone the Earth’s Energy budget.
For example his first calculation is incorrect when he assumes that the surface area of a sphere is Pi*R^2 (It is not).
He also makes no base assumptions and states no parameters about his calculations.
For example solar reflection from the atmosphere at the poles is quite different than at the equator.
Additionally, change in temperature is not a linear equation because we are not working on 5th grade physics.
Changes in the earth’s atmosphere have a cumulative effect on EVERY parameter in the energy equation.
I will go no further, but I would like to urge you to google the problems of climate change and study them carefully, so that you don’t believe another fool with a pocket calculator.
Your friendly neighborhood climatologist,
Fred

I see here that Hoffman Roche got out and went back in keeping with the former President( Stepehen G Soduvar ) mantra of…
‘Pay Me What I want Or I Will Let You Die’ which he uttered at a thanksgiving family gathering which I attended in his home in Montclair New Jersey?
I was stunned at the remark to tell you the truth, because we were talking about the perception that the pharmaceutical industry was getting a very large amount of negative public relations in the public eyes it seemed to me.
To para phrase more of what he said ‘hey people are going to get sich, and when they do, we will be waiting to take their money of they want to get well again, its all business and ours doesnt deal in public relations views, we deal in money.
It was hard to square the family man I had just had dinner with , and the shark who was speaking to me at the door as I left as the driver of his aged mother?
So when I read Roche remains with Beck despite the exodusof so many others whom we know by name and products they sell that we use in the home?
I have to wonder if he remains a part of the decision making process there, or if his sort of business ethic is institutionalized and endures at Roche by sponsoring this talking head?

It would be hard to be more ignorant than Sarah Palin, but I believe Glen Beck w/his artificially induced tears rises to the challenge. Those fake tears are to fool you teabaggers and racists. All republicans may not be teabaggers and racist, but all teabaggers and racists are republicans.

Christians, your beliefs and pronoucements don’t matter to me, or have any relevance in the civil discourse or the direction of this great nation. Equality, freedom and justice are stifled by your dictates, and are un American!Your beliefs are yours and yours alone. Written by men to suit the needs of the powerful, they are not the words of any god or gods. Freedom of religion is freedom FROM religion. There is no god, so go ahead and enjoy your lives while they last. Life is all we have, all we know and that’s all there is.

Dear Constitution n00bs,
This is not a “Free Speech” issue.
If you would bother to read the article on free speech (see below, it’s short), you will see that it is the guarantee that The Government won’t interfere with our free speech.
You and I (free citizens of this fine land) can still choose not to associate with, to criticise, mock, or even to choose not support those who support, anyone who farts loudly and often in public (such as Mr. Beck).
Amendment 1 – Freedom of Religion, Press, Expression. Ratified 12/15/1791. Note
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

First of all, posters: proof-read and spell-check. When your arguments read like the rantings of a middle-school dropout, it doesn’t matter how good your point is.
Secondly, and most importantly, the people who are arguing in favor of getting dissenting opinions off the air because you don’t like them need to look at history, the Constitution, and their own consciences. Pitchforks??? Are you serious?
All respect I have for your opinion vanishes when you demonstrate an unwillingness to respect mine.

Ok… this list is useless. Who are the *current* sponsors of Glen Beck so I can actually boycott them? (really not sure how I would go about boycotting Roche xD) You say to “Keep it up!” but you don’t say WHAT to keep up. Hurray for useless feel-good activism!

So there’s a section on the sidebar for target sponsors but the only content in it appears to be an erroneous link to @AngiesList on twitter… but there is a giant link at the top of the page called “Remaining Sponsors”. I stand corrected.

Hurray for people that are too distracted by hurling negativity that they miss the link at the top of the page, right next to “Dropped Sponsors” that reads “Remaining Sponsors”
Sorry for the inconvenience though, here’s a direct link to a list of remaining sponsors. This should save you the agony of scrolling all the way to the top of this page.

Oh good. Glad you found it. I had posted my snarky reply before seeing your correction.
Thanks for coming by and helping with the effort.

Mike,
Would you be so kind as to get in touch with me? I really want to take action on this, but I just need a bit more information: namely what date you saw the ad run, and what your cable provider is.
You can reach me by email: stopbeck@gmail.com
Thanks much!

dear, Fred
I have not trace the original. The link I gave merly copied it from somewhere else or did…I haven’t foward the math yet to my Professor friend at Virgina Tech, whom work with electromagnetism.
The gist the guy was making with his math wasn’t surface area of a sphere. But the surface facing the sun(I assume). There is better math but what I like was the approach, i.e. the ratio.
Thus one wouldn’t need to calc the diff at the poles. “( For example solar reflection from the atmosphere at the poles is quite different than at the equator.
Additionally, change in temperature is not a linear equation because we are not working on 5th grade physics.)”
I thought his point was to assume all energy available would be absorbed and linear or not a hundred year supply absorbed…Unless you put forth a geometric increase in heat and you don’t…Linear will have to do.
Then he goes into capacity to hold heat and he uses Max capacity i think,,,Funny he using 4pi R squared here—where is your complaint here:
“”Now let us turn to the question of how much energy is needed to increase global temperatures. Of course, the first and most obvious area to be heated is the troposphere itself. Air under average atmospheric conditions has a specific heat capacity of 1.012 J/g·°K[6] and an average density of 1.2 kg/m³[7]. The troposphere itself can be calculated by using the information presented earlier (average radius of earth = 6371 km[4] and a troposhere extending 17 km above the surface[5]). Thus the area of the troposphere can be determined by calculating the volume of a sphere of 6388 km radius and subtracting a sphere of 6371 km radius from it:
V(tot) = 4/3 ? r³ = 4/3 ? · 6388³ = 1,091,901,171 km³”
the imediateate above qoutes is a clip.
Fred you stated ” the earth’s atmosphere have a cumulative effect on EVERY parameter in the energy equation.
I will go no further”
I say once one has calculated max capacity who cares about every parameter?
To end
I have googled and read for five years off and on. this year I read a ton…And I conclude people like you or our friendly neighborhood climatologist, Fred…
Are Idealist and similar to those who believed in the Peltdown man for decades early 20th century.
I have read real climate scientist until I am blue in the face etc. I find Gary Novak’s site more practical in approach…
I have dared our politicians to show us the MATH otherwise. My Congressman a Repub is silent, The Speacker Of The house, is Silent and Both Of the California Senators are silent.
Point they don’t have math that dispute what i have put before them…The also know they can’t buffalo me…My High school friends were very smart, i.e one at Virgina tech.
The other Paul Chavel warped grading curbs in College. He was grading English(for Proessors) In our first Year college and that wasn’t his strong subject.
He had many Scholarships which he turned down to go to our local college because all his friends were going to the Bakersfield junior college first. These guys were real Brain trusts in Math and Physics… I am not dumb and he was in another Chem 101 Class but Same Professor Lee as I. This professor had and maintained the reputation(decades) of giving tests that could not be finished by anyone in class…I was an A student and I generally score high 270′s which turned out to be C….Paul was scoring 670, 680, 650, and Prof, Lee left him out of the Curb…He was almost doing all questions on test…In other words. If you made the test(as teacher) an you could do your test in ten minutes..Picture you making a teat that Take you the teacher two hours plus to finish and have a student come within minutes of finishing in 50 minutes….That be Paul. Jeff my Virgina Tech Professor friend scored 380′s, 400….no one else was close.
Clip; to end this response Fred
Consider ,
” We are assuming that 100% of the available solar irradiance is being absorbed by anthropogenic carbon dioxide. This includes shortwave solar irradiation which is actually reflected back into space without being absorbed, and it also includes radiation that is absorbed through other means such as photosynthesis.
We are assuming 100% conversion of that intercepted energy by anthropogenic carbon dioxide into heat, and not calculating how much of that heat is dissipated back into space through emission.”

RE: Musings on Glenn Beck A.K.A “The Beckster”
I personally don’t “hate” Glenn Beck or his show. I prefer to see him more as a reflection of where our country is at this moment in history. Whether we like it or not, we are a divided nation in many respects, and he is merely capitalizing on that fact!
I tend to think of Glenn Beck as mere novel entertainment – and a necessary reflection of our times. His rantings and ravings and ridiculous comparisons are a source of amusement. He never offers any real solutions to the “threats” that he frequently mentions on his show. To do so would put him out of a lucrative paying job!
While Glenn Beck rants and raves and we eagerly anticipate his next outrageous claim, he is laughing all the way to the bank!
Ultimately, like any form of entertainment that is too often frequented, the “novelty” of Glenn Beck will wear off, and one may find oneself tuning in much less frequently than in the past!
Trust me on this – All things have their time and place, and nothing lasts forever – including the Glenn Beck Show!

Charles, your writing makes no sense; several phrases you use create the impression of a very confused person:
“warped grading curbs in College” …. really? He warped *curbs*? Sounds as if you are repeating things you’ve heard other people say, neither understanding the concepts nor spelling them correctly. To use “curbs” instead of “curves” in this context raises serious doubts about your mental lucidity.
Your inappropriate use of capitals in sentences, the odd prosody of your writing (strange paragraph breaks in the middle of sentences – going so far as to use capitals at the paragraph where the sentence should be continuing unbroken….. all of these make me think that you’r really not qualified to be discussing anything, let alone climate science, or you’re using a voice-to-text converter and not bothering to check the results before you copy/paste them into the forum.

lol you guys are AWESOME!!!
never has the term “cracker bastard” been more applicable than with Glenn Beck. That he could get ANY sponsors to begin with is mind boggling.
But seeing this list of sponsors who have walked away, well, it just gives me that warm fuzzy feeling knowing that there are actually limits to how low corporate America will go to try and reach consumers.
This guy shouldn’t be on TV, or radio, or broadcasting on the internet. He should stick to KKK rallies and Christian Identity get togethers with his fellow inbreds and leave it at that.
peace

I wish this site would make a list of local radio stations in every state that carries Glenn Beck, so people could simply click and get contact info to call their stations and complain or suggest they air a progressive program for more balance on the publicly owned airwaves. In my state there are six radio stations that carry Glenn Beck. It wouldn’t be that hard to do if everyone who visits this site sent in their state’s station contact info. All you have to do is to to http://www.ontheradio.net. Put in your state and you will get a list of all stations in your state and websites. It also lists the format. So, you can find the AM stations that do talk. This eliminates a huge number of stations. It is not hard after that to go to those stations web pages and find out their programming. Then you can let progressives in your state know which stations carry Beck and tell them how to contact the stations. Radio is the real culprit – it has a much larger audience than TV.

George,
I like the idea. I’ll get working on it straight away.

Today 2-15-10 I saw an Ing Direct ad on Glenn Beck TV show 2:00 PM PST. It was for shareholder.com, by Ing Direct. Was it only the UK that pulled out?

My main problem is the fact that he is on a NEWS channel. The lies and hate he spews are not news. Let him say what he wants, just not on a station that calls itself a news station.
