Over the weekend, Glenn Beck mocked Michelle Obama’s healthy food initiative with a suggestive remark about where he’ll stuff the carrot.
This morning, Glenn Beck claimed that Michelle Obama’s initiative has something to do with administration officials plan to put sterilants in the drinking water: (more…)
Last night, conservatives converged in Illinois at the Right Nation 2010 Convention. I lived tweeted most of it. It was mostly unremarkable, but if you’re really interested feel free to check my twitter stream.
About halfway through Mr. Beck’s speech, the live video feed was shut down – so the live tweeting ended at this point. I contacted the feed’s purveyor asking for confirmation of reports that the feed was shut down at the behest of Glenn Beck’s team, but they have not replied to requests for information.
After the video feed was shut down, Mr. Beck propagated his typical vitriolic nonsense. More >
Glenn Beck is very mad…at Elmo. Apparently, Elmo is now part of a government conspiracy to redistribute all wealth in America! In yesterday’s newsletter, Glenn Beck wrote:
Elmo wants to redistribute wealth Your government hard at work – they’ve enlisted the help of Elmo to push for redistributive change. The FCC is using children, saying all kids should be connected to the Internet and not that crappy dial up. Elmo says he’s tired of buffering, so he needs free broadband access!
No wonder Elmo is red…he’s…a marxist!
Glenn Beck often boasts about having the biggest and best staff in the whole wide world, which makes me wonder how the possible double double meaning of this graphic’s title escaped them:
I’m not trying to be hysterical or read too deeply into things here, but I mean..come on. Glenn Beck is already in an awful lot of hot water for repeatedly preying on racial anxieties, you’d think someone on his crack team of staffers would be checking for this kind of stuff.
Anyway, I don’t want to make a big deal about this – there are plenty of offenses worthy More >
Over the past few days, Glenn Beck has gotten a lot of heat for his paid 9/11 event.
Today, in his daily newsletter, Glenn Beck fired back at critics:
Not surprisingly, the media is going out of their way to try and find something wrong with the event. This time they are complaining that the tickets actually cost money to purchase. Apparently it’s against liberal law to charge money for tickets on September 11th
Maybe it’s because Glenn Beck’s stories keep changing, but he doesn’t seem to understand: this isn’s just another one of Beck’s sideshows. It is being billed as a 9/11 commemoration More >
Literally hundreds of advertisers refuse to purchase ad time on Glenn Beck’s show. But, did you know…
As of today, September 9, the broadcast of Glenn Beck’s show in the U.K. has run without any commercials for nearly seven months thanks to your efforts.
The Fox News Channel is broadcast in the U.K, which means Glenn Beck is as well. Along with the StopBeck – UK Effort, participants in the StopBeck Effort reached out and urged advertisers to stop sponsoring Mr. Beck’s vitriol, sexism and preying on racial anxieties. Once aware of the reckless vitriol they were associating their brands with, advertisers were quick to flee More >
After Glenn Beck said that President Obama was a “racist” with a “deep-seated hatred for white people, or the white culture,” Rupert Murdoch had this to say:
“And um, that was something which perhaps shouldn’t have been said about the President, but if you actually assess what he [Glenn Beck] was talking about, he [Beck] was right.“
Glenn Beck’s show has lost hundreds of advertisers and his UK broadcast has run without any commercials for nearly 7 months now. When asked about this, Murdoch dismissed the advertisers’ concerns – and even implied that if they really wanted to stop funding Glenn Beck, they should leave Fox More >
Glenn Beck not only fetishizes 9/11, but he exploits this tragedy for his personal gain. Last year, Glenn Beck launched the 9/12 Project, which describes itself as follows:
The 9-12 Project is designed to bring us all back to the place we were on September 12, 2001.
That’s right. Last year, Glenn Beck started a self-serving “movement” that’s sole purpose was to encourage people to feel as frazzled, terrified and disoriented as they were immediately after 9/11. More >
We’re so proud of Glenn Beck. Although, he does seem awfully exhausted after completing what is a very basic math problem… (more…)
On August 28, Glenn Beck held his “restoring honor” rally. But, in Glenn Beckistan restoring honor means telling a blatant lie to tens of thousands of people. On stage, Glenn Beck held his hands out and proclaimed:
“I went to the National Archives, and I held the first inaugural address written in his own hand by George Washington.”
Well, it turns out, this was a total lie. Mother Jones has the scoop (emphasis added):
Beck did receive a special VIP tour of the archives, arranged by an as-yet unidentified member of Congress. During that tour, he More >
