Beginning February 9, 2010, the UK broadcast of Glenn Beck’s Fox News Show began running without any advertisements. It remained sponsor-less for nearly a year.
On February 7, 2011, just before 1 year anniversary of Beck’s UK broadcast running sponsor-less, a small amount of ads returned. Consequently, along with the StopBeck UK effort, participants in the StopBeck effort sprang to action. We contacted advertisers and kindly requested that the follow the responsible action taken by hundreds of other companies and refrain from financially supporting Glenn Beck’s vitriol.

Radio Chain Dropping Glenn Beck From Five Stations Because His Rants Hurt Ratings

Since the beginning of 2011, Buckley Radio has dropped Glenn Beck’s show from five of their radio stations (1 in New York, 4 in Connecticut).

Match.com Removes Ads From Glenn Beck’s Show

Match.com ads recently started running on Glenn Beck’s Fox News show. Match.com is one of the largest online dating companies.
As with other advertisers, participants in the StopBeck effort reached out to Match.com. We kindly requested that they follow the responsible action of hundreds of other advertisers and refrain from advertising on Glenn Beck’s show.

Columbia College (Missouri) Removes Ads From Glenn Beck’s Radio Show

We’ve recently started reaching out to Glenn Beck’s radio advertisers.
Columbia College (Missouri) was advertising on Glenn Beck’s radio show in Chicago, which is broadcast by Salem Communications’ AM 560 WIND.
As with television advertisers, participants in the StopBeck effort reached out to Columbia College. We kindly requested that they take the responsible action by refraining from financially supporting Glenn Beck’s vitriol.

New York Times: Fox News Officials “Contemplating Life Without” Glenn Beck; Notes Lost Advertisers

In a March 6 article, The New York Times’ David Carr reported that Fox News and Glenn Beck may soon part ways. According to Carr, Fox News officials have begun “contemplating life without Mr. Beck.” Carr also notes Glenn Beck’s drastically declining ratings as well as the 300+ advertisers currently boycotting Beck’s show.

Angelo Carusone of the StopBeck effort will be joining Media Matters as Campaign Director and will be working on DropFox.

KGO’s Chrstine Mathias and Scott Lettieri will interview Angelo from the StopBeck effort on Saturday, November 20 at 8pm pacific time (10 central/11 eastern).
